An Air Canada Embraer ERJ-190, registration C-FMZU performing flight AC-584 from Calgary,AB (Canada) to Newark,NJ (USA) with 92 people on board, was enroute at FL390 nearing the top of descent towards Newark when the crew received EICAS messages AVNX MAU 1B FAIL, AC BUS 1 OFF and DC BUS 1 OFF as well as messages indicating the loss of the associated systems. The crew declared PAN and continued to Newark for a safe landing.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the #1 generator control unit and the #1 integrated drive generator.
