A US Airways Airbus A321-200, registration N174US performing flight US-2059 from Charlotte,NC to Miami,FL (USA), was descending towards Miami when the crew reported a hydraulic failure and advised they would need to stop on the runway. ATC subsequently advised other aircraft that the intersection of runways 09 and 12 might be blocked by an arriving emergency. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 09 with gear doors open and needed to be towed to the apron with emergency services in trail.

Maintenance subsequently worked on the left hand engine (CFM56).
