An Air Canada Airbus A319-100, registration C-FZUJ performing flight AC-150 from Vancouver,BC to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 126 people on board, was enroute at FL350 about 200nm eastsoutheast of Calgary,AB (Canada) when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine (CFM56) down due to abnormal indications. The crew decided to divert to Calgary where the aircraft landed safely on runway 34 about 45 minutes later.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance found substantial damage to the engine's high pressure compressor stages 5,6,7,8 and 9.
