Thomas Cook B752 enroute on May 11th 2012, unruly passengers claim bomb on board

A Thomas Cook Boeing 757-200, registration G-FCLD performing flight MT-2022 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Tenerife Sur Reina Sofia,CI (Spain) with 218 passengers and 8 crew, was enroute near Tenerife when during an escalating dispute with cabin crew a pair of male passengers (20 and 19) told cabin crew they were travelling with an explosive device they intended to blow up. The flight crew therefore declared emergency and accelerated approach and landing on Tenerife Sur's runway 08 and stopped at the end of the runway, where police took the the pair into custody and all passengers disembarked. A search of the aircraft and luggage did not find any trace of explosives.

Police reported the two passengers were under the influence of alcohol, they spent the night in jail, charges have been brought forward. The men will have to face trial.
