An Envoy Embraer ERJ-175 on behalf of American Airlines, registration N270NN performing flight AA-3939 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Midland,TX (USA) with 70 people on board, was climbing out of Fort Worth's runway 18L when the crew stopped the climb at about 10,000 feet reporting the failure of the right hand engine (CF34). The aircraft landed safely back on Fort Worth's runway 18L about 35 minutes after departure.

A replacement ERJ-175 registration N311VE reached Midland with a delay of about 2.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft returned to service about 36.5 hours after landing.
