An Austrian Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration OE-LBK performing flight OS-542 from Naples (Italy) to Vienna (Austria), was arriving on Vienna's runway 34 when an odour became noticeable on board.

According to information The Aviation Herald received, the aircraft was prepared for its next flight OS-325 to Gothenburg (Sweden) when the arriving new crew rejected the aircraft due to the odour. Maintenance determined the source of the oily odour was located in the APU, where oil was ingested into the air conditioning.

The following days (Sep 25th, 26th and 27th) the aircraft transmitted ADS-B data with the callsign "SMELL" while on the ground in Vienna. The aircraft is still on the ground in Vienna about 71 hours (2 days 23 hours) after landing as flight OS-542.
