A Transavia Boeing 737-700, registration PH-XRA performing flight HV-6318 from Madrid,SP (Spain) to Rotterdam (Netherlands) with 149 passengers and 5 crew, was on final approach to Rotterdam's runway 06 (length 2200 meters/ 7220 feet) descending through about 1400 feet when the aircraft went around due to a flaps problem. The aircraft climbed to 3000 feet, diverted to Amsterdam (Netherlands) at a maximum of 200 knots over ground, was vectored for an approach to Amsterdam's runway 06 (length 3500 meters/11500 feet) but went around from about 1300 feet about 20 minutes after go-around at Rotterdam, positioned for an approach to runway 18R (length 3800 meters/12470 feet) and finally landed safely on runway 18R at a higher than normal speed (170 KIAS) about 30 minutes after going around at Rotterdam. Following a check of the brakes by emergency services the aircraft taxied to the gate.

The passengers were bussed to Rotterdam.

The incident aircraft was able to resume service the following morning after about 8 hours on the ground.

The airline confirmed the aircraft diverted to Amsterdam due to problems with the flaps requiring the longer runway available at Amsterdam.
