An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N969AN performing flight AA-878 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) to Queretaro (Mexico), was on approach to Queretaro maintaining FL200 when ATC cleared the flight to descend to FL140 but heard no reply. After several calls by ATC the crew responded they had again a radio problem. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Queretaro's runway 09 about 16 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Queretaro for about 19.5 hours then departed for the next flight AA-883 to Dallas Ft. Worth and reached Dallas with a delay of about 11 hours.
