A Flybe de Havilland Dash 8-400, flight BE-229 from Southampton,EN to Jersey,CI (UK) with 34 passengers, was climbing out of Southampton when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine down and returned to Southampton for a safe landing.

The airline confirmed the aircraft returned due to a technical fault prompting the captain to shut the #2 engine down. The passenger were re-accomodated on other flights.
