A Westjet Encore de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-FNEN performing flight WS-3524 from Toronto,ON to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 63 passengers and 4 crew, was descending towards Montreal when the crew observed smoke from the right hand windshield's heating. The crew shut the power to the windshield heating down - the smoke dissipated afterwards -, worked the related checklists and continued for a safe landing on Montreal's runway 24L.

The Canadian TSB reported a post flight inspection revealed electrical arcing from the L2 terminal at the terminal block of the right hand windshield. The terminal was replaced.
