A United Boeing 787-9, registration N35953 performing flight UA-UA968 from San Francisco,CA (USA) to Amsterdam (Netherlands) with 197 passengers and 13 crew, was enroute at FL390 about 490nm north of Bangor,ME (USA) in Canadian Airspace when the crew declared emergency reporting a cabin pressurization issue, performed an emergency descent, the passenger oxygen masks were released, and the crew decided to divert to Bangor. The aircraft landed safely in Bangor about 2:15 hours after leaving FL390.

The airline reported the passengers were provided with accomodation over night, then would be transferred to Newark,NJ and continue to Amsterdam from Newark.

On Oct 25th 2019 the Canadian TSB reported the crew noticed the cabin pressure was decreasing, the right hand DC bus had failed along with the right hand air conditioning system. Subsequently the left hand pack failed, too. The crew declared emergency, descended and diverted to Bangor.
