An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N965AN performing flight AA-711 from Phoenix,AZ to Las Vegas,NV (USA) with 161 people on board, was accelerating for takeoff from Phoenix's runway 07L when the crew rejected takeoff at low speed (about 45 knots over ground) advising no assistance was needed, they had a config light. The aircraft returned to the apron.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N980AN reached Las Vegas with a delay of 3.5 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Phoenix about 29 hours after the rejected takeoff.
