A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGOY performing flight QK-8552 from Victoria,BC to Calgary,AB (Canada) with 74 passengers and 4 crew, was in the initial climb out of Victoria when the crew selected the gear up, however, the left main gear did not indicate up and locked. The crew worked the related checklists and decided to divert to Vancouver,BC (Canada), burned off fuel and landed safely on Vancouver's runway 08R. The aircraft taxied to the apron.

The Canadian TSB reported maintence found the up-lock actuator sensor loose and out of target. The sensor was tightened and secured. Several gear swings confirmed normal operation without further fault.
