A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-400, registration C-GGOY performing flight QK-8185 from Vancouver,BC to Ft. St. John,BC (Canada) with 72 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL240 about 210nm north of Vancouver when the crew received a cabin pressurization warning indication, performed an emergency descent to 10,000 feet and consulted with maintenance and dispatch. About 100nm further north the crew subsequently decided to return to Vancouver where the aircraft landed safely about 2.5 hours after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance discovered the desiccant filter was saturated with water, the filter was replaced, the system purged of water, the pressurization tested and the aircraft returned to service. However, the following day the aircraft was involved in another similiar occurrence, see Incident: Jazz DH8D near Vancouver on Nov 27th 2017, cabin pressurization problem.
