A US Airways Airbus A319-100, registration N709UW performing flight US-1275 from Washington National,DC to Orlando,FL (USA), was on final approach to Orlando's runway 18R when the crew reported a bird strike, but declined the controller questions whether they would declare emergency. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on runway 18R two minutes later.

The FAA reported the aircraft received damage to the nose cone.

An observer described the nose cone "smashed up" with bird remains on it.

The return flight US-1278 was cancelled.
