A Gol Transportes Aereos Boeing 737-700, registration PR-GEI performing flight G3-1006 from Sao Paulo Congonhas,SP to Rio de Janeiro Santos,RJ (Brazil), was climbing out of Congonhas' runway 35L when the crew stopped the climb at 6000 feet due to problems with the flaps. The crew decided to divert to Sao Paulo Galeao Airport,SP (Brazil) for a safe landing on runway 28R about 30 minutes after departure.

The aircraft returned to service about 7 hours after landing.
