A Brussels Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration OO-SNA performing flight SN-3783 from Brussels (Belgium) to Las Palmas,CI (Spain) with 147 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Brussels' runway 07R when the crew reported a bird strike into an engine (CFM56), stopped the climb at 5500 feet and returned to Brussels for a safe landing on runway 01 about 40 minutes after departure.

The airline confirmed the aircraft suffered a bird strike. The airline is exploring different options of how to get the passengers to Las Palmas.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground about 10 hours after landing back.
