A Jazz de Havilland Dash 8-300, registration C-GTAG performing flight QK-8093 from Vancouver,BC (Canada) to Seattle,WA (USA) with 46 people on board, aborted the approach to Seattle when the crew received a nose gear unsafe indication and aborted the approach. The gear and flaps were retracted, another attempt to lower the gear resulted in the same unsafe indication. The crew therefore attempted an alternate gear extension, which again resulted in a nose gear unsafe indication. The crew consulted with dispatch and maintenance, who recommended to pull very hard on the nose gear release handle. The first officer exercised substantial force on the handle which resulted in different noises as during the previous attempts and all three green indications confirmed by the alternate indications now all going green too. The aircraft landed safely in Seattle with the crew lowering the nose gear gently.

The Canadian TSB reported the aircraft was ferried back to Vancouver with the gear remaining down to investigate the gear problem.
