A LATAM Brasil Airbus A320-200, registration PR-MHG performing flight JJ-8074 from Rio de Janeiro Galeao,RJ (Brazil) to Santiago (Chile), was enroute at FL340 about 60nm west of Cordoba,CD (Argentina) when the crew detected an oil leak at the left hand engine (CFM56), reduced the engine to idle and decided to divert to Cordoba for a safe landing about 20 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Cordoba about 26 hours after landing.
