An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N829NN performing flight AA-134 from Miami,FL to Seattle,WA (USA), was climbing out of Miami when the crew stopped the climb at FL200 after receiving a lightning strike and decided to return to Miami for a safe landing about 25 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported they were about 10-20 minutes into the flight when a lightning struck the aircraft. The aircraft returned to Miami where the aircraft was received by emergency services.

The flight was cancelled. The occurence aircraft is still on the ground about 18 hours after landing.
