A KLM Airbus A330-300, registration PH-AKE performing flight KL-446 from Kuwait (Kuwait) to Amsterdam (Netherlands) with about 300 people on board, was enroute at FL320 about 70nm south of Trabzon (Turkey) when the crew descended the aircraft to FL240 and continued into the general direction of Amsterdam. The crew subsequently decided to divert to Bucharest's Otopeni Airport where the aircraft landed safely about 2:10 hours later. The left hand engine (CF6) was seen leaking some fluid.

A replacement Boeing 747-400 registration PH-BFY was dispatched to Bucharest, resumed the flight and reached Amsterdam with a delay of 9:15 hours.

The airline reported the crew noticed an abnormal oil consumption of the engine and diverted the aircraft to Bucharest. The occurrence aircraft is being repaired.
