An Aserca Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration YV493T performing flight R7-764 from Caracas to Santo Domingo del Tachira (Venezuela) with 140 people on board, burst both nose gear tyres upon roll out in Santo Domingo and veered right off the runway at about 17:10L (21:40Z). The aircraft stopped with the right wing entangled with a bush near the runway. No injuries occurred, the aircraft sustained no visible damage beyond the burst tyres.

The airport needed to be closed until the aircraft can be removed and is currently (17 hours after the landing) still closed.

The airline reported the runway was wet, the aircraft began hydroplaning causing both nose gear tyres to burst.

Passengers reported the aircraft fishtailed upon landing completely crossing the runway before it came to a stop off the runway.
