An Aeromexico Boeing 737-800, registration XA-AMS performing flight AM-682 from Mexico City (Mexico) to Chicago O'Hare,IL (USA), was enroute about 2 hours prior to estimated arrival in Chicago when a passenger was stung into the elbow by a scorpion. The passenger didn't report his mishap until after landing. The aircraft continued to Chicago for a safe landing. Airport medical staff examined the passenger who did not show any adverse reaction to the sting and refused further medical treatment.

The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground for about 110 minutes, then departed for the return flight.
