An Avianca Airbus A320-200, registration N401AV performing flight AV-9461 from Bucaramanga to Bogota (Colombia) with 90 people on board, was climbing out of Bucaramanga's runway 35 when a bird impacted the aircraft's nose prompting the crew to level off at 14,000 feet and return to Bucaramanga for a safe landing on runway 35 about 25 minutes after departure.

The airline confirmed a bird strike during the climb.

The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto the next flights.
