The aircraft remained on the ground for about 35 minutes, then departed again from runway 26L but again needed to return to Atlanta after tower advised the crew the gear had not come up. The crew confirmed gear problems and decided to stop the climb at 6000 feet, climbed to 7000 feet on ATC instruction and returned to Atlanta for a safe landing on runway 26R about 20 minutes after departure.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Atlanta about 21.5 hours after second landing back.
