A Peruvian Airlines Boeing 737-500, registration OB-2135P performing flight P9-219 from Lima to Cuzco (Peru) with 120 people on board, departed with a delay of about 4 hours. Upon climbing out of Lima's runway 15 the crew reported problems with the ailerons, stopped the climb at about 8000 feet and descended the aircraft to 4000 feet and entered a hold while the crew was working the related checklists. The aircraft positioned for an approach to runway 15 and landed safely at normal speeds about 35 minutes after departure.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about 3 hours, then departed again and reached Cuzco with a total delay of about 8 hours.

The airline confirmed there was a problem with the ailerons, small plates that permit to initiate turns of the aircraft.
