The airline reported the crew heard a sound from the engine and went to examine the engine, however, there was no indication of a malfunction. Nonetheless, the crew decided to divert to Stavanger for a perfectly normal landing, there are maintenance engineers available in Stavanger other than in Haugesund. So far no engine malfunction has been found.
A passenger reported there was a loud bang, the crew indicated an engine was shut down and subsequently restarted in flight, they were diverting to Stavanger for better emergency services available.
The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground 17 hours after landing in Stavanger.
