According to information The Aviation Herald received, there are a number of crew still on sick leave and feel bad. The odour developed after engine start and APU shut down and intensified during taxi affecting also passengers. A maintenance inspection found the APU inlet clean and no anomaly with the engines, the odour could not be reproduced and the aircraft was returned to service.
The occurrence aircraft remained on the ground in Munich for about 18 hours and resumed service the following morning.
On Feb 20th 2017 Germany's BFU told The Aviation Herald, that they are not aware of the occurrence. Although our inquiry contained all the facts we were able to provide and at least the BFU's press office therefore was in possession of these data, the press officer/spokesman of the BFU insisted a separate notification via the official form should be filed, which The Aviation Herald did based on the evidence available. Following the notification filed by The Aviation Herald the BFU told The Aviation Herald on Feb 23rd, that they have collected information on that occurrence, the occurrence was not rated a serious incident or accident and is therefore not being investigated.
