An American Airlines Boeing 767-300, registration N390AA performing flight AA-66 from New York JFK,NY (USA) to Barcelona,SP (Spain) with 151 passengers and 8 crew, was enroute at FL370 over the Atlantic Ocean about 300nm northwest of Porto (Portugal) when the crew decided to divert to Porto reporting an engine oil problem on the left hand engine (CF6). The aircraft maintained FL365 until top of descent into Porto and landed safely on Porto's runway 17 about 45 minutes later.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Porto about 15 hours after landing. The passengers were taken to hotels.

The flight is estimated to continue the following day.
