An Air Canada Airbus A320-200, registration C-FLSS performing flight AC-782 from Los Angeles,CA (USA) to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 149 people on board, was climbing out of Los Angeles about 110nm northeast of Los Angeles, when a transient failure of the display units occurred. When the displays returned the crew received an "ELEC AC BUS 1 FAULT" ECAM fault message, levelled off at FL240, worked the related checklists and decided to return to Los Angeles, where the aircraft landed safely about 55 minutes after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the #1 generator line contactor, the #1 bus tie connector and the #1 integrated drive generator.
