An Air Canada Rouge Airbus A319-100, registration C-FYIY performing flight RV-1856 from Las Vegas,NV (USA) to Montreal,QC (Canada) with 126 people on board, had just levelled off for cruise flight at FL290 when the crew received indication of an ADIRU #1 failure and numerous associated fault messages. The crew decided to return to Las Vegas for a safe landing about 2:10 hours after departure.

The Canadian TSB reported the aircraft had encountered a similiar occurrence 6 days earlier, see Incident: Canada Rouge A319 at Orlando on Oct 27th 2016, ADIRUritis. Again, the aircraft had been dispatched under minimum equipment list requirements with ADIRU#3 inoperative. The operator is now planning to replace ADIRU #1, ADIRU #3 and ADM #4 as well as inspecting the ADM wiring.

The aircraft remained on the ground in Las Vegas for 41 hours, then departed as flight RV-7086.
