A Virgin America Airbus A319-100, registration N528VA performing flight VX-762 from Dallas Love,TX to New York La Guardia,NY (USA) with 92 people on board, was climbing out of Dallas Love Airport's runway 13R when the crew stopped the climb at about 8000 feet and requested immediate vectors back to Dallas Love and declared Emergency reporting they had flight control issues, rudder issues. While turning around to return to Dallas the crew requested immediate vectors to Dallas Fort Worth and the longest runway available with ILS, ATC advised to expect runway 13R, the crew queried the runway and pointed out, they wanted to divert to Fort Worth not to Love, the controller now realized the misunderstanding and advised to expect runway 17C. The aircraft landed safely on Fort Worth's runway 17C about 18 minutes after departure.

The airline reported a potential technical issue, the passengers are being rebooked onto other flights.
