A TUIFly Boeing 737-800, registration D-ATUK performing flight X3-8958 from Sonderborg (Denmark) to Palermo (Italy) with 185 passengers, was taxiing for departure from runway 14, however, the right main gear went off the paved surface of the turn pad disabling the aircraft.

The airport is estimated to be closed for about 27 hours until noon the following day.

The 185 passengers are being bussed to Hanover (Germany) and are going to depart from there.
