A TUIFly Boeing 737-800, registration D-ATUK performing flight X3-4806 from Munich (Germany) to Kos (Greece), was enroute at FL350 about 80nm south of Belgrade (Serbia) when the crew decided to return to Munich advising of a problem with the landing gear. The aircraft descended to FL340 for the way back, on approach to Munich the crew clarified there was no technical problem, just an indication problem, all appeared to be working fine. As a precaution the crew intended to lower the gear early on a 10nm final to make sure everything was in place indeed. The aircraft landed safely on Munich's runway 26L about 2:20 hours after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration D-ATUF departed about 8.5 hours after landing very early the following morning and reached Kos with a delay of 10.5 hours.
