An American Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration N653AW performing flight AA-574 from Phoenix,AZ to Tampa,FL (USA) with 146 people on board, was on approach to Tampa's runway 19L when the crew went around from about 1300 feet MSL reporting a landing gear issue, subsequently advising no assistance was needed. The crew worked the checklists while in a hold, tower in the meantime scrambled emergency services advising emergency services of an unsafe gear indication, the crew was still troubleshooting. The aircraft landed safely on runway 19L about 50 minutes after going around, just after midnight local time, after coming to a stop on the runway the crew advised they were not able to vacate the runway, needed to be towed to the apron, both engines were shut down. No further assistance beyond the tow was needed.

Passengers reported they were told to brace for landing.
