An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDK performing flight EK-149 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was on approach to Amsterdam's runway 18R when the crew advised ATC, they had a gear problem and needed to stop on the runway after landing, subsequently detailing they had a nose wheel steering problem and needed to reset the related computers before continuing taxi. ATC re-assigned runway 18C to the aircraft, the crew landed safely on runway 18C about 20 minutes later. The aircraft stopped on the runway for a few minutes, then taxied to the apron.

The aircraft was able to depart for the return flight EK-150 about 2.5 hours after landing.
