A Wizzair Airbus A320-200, registration HA-LYU performing flight W6-7308 from Cologne (Germany) to Kiev Zhuliany (Ukraine), was on final approach to Zhuliany's runway 26 when in the flare, about 5 feet above the runway surface, the crew noticed a number of birds. The aircraft touched down, rolled out and taxied to the apron.

Ukraine's NBAAI reported a post flight inspection revealed evidence birds were ingested into the right hand engine (V2527) suggesting minor damage only. Following visual inspection maintenance deferred a borescopic inspection to the period of overnight parking and released the aircraft to perform two more sectors, flights W6-7309 to Larnaca (Cyprus) and W6-7310 back to Kiev, both flights without any anomaly. Following landing of flight W6-7310 in Kiev, during overnight parking, maintenance performed the borescopic inspection and found internal damage requiring an immediate engine change before next flight. The NBAAI have opened an investigation into the occurrence and surrounding events.

Following flight W6-7310 the aircraft remained on the ground in Kiev until Jul 14th 2016 for about 90 hours.
