A Lufthansa Cargo McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration D-ALCB performing freight flight GEC-8389 from Krasnojarsk (Russia) to Frankfurt/Main (Germany), was climbing through FL140 out of Krasnojarsk when the crew reported problems with the gear but continued the climb to FL280. The aircraft levelled off at FL280, the crew subsequently advised they needed to return to Krasnojark and descended to FL100 to dump fuel. The aircraft landed safely back on Krasnojarsk's runway 29 about 110 minutes after departure.

The aircraft was able to depart about 5:45 hours after landing and reached Frankfurt with a delay of 6:15 hours.
