A Eurowings Airbus A320-200, registration D-AIQL performing flight 4U-814 from Cologne/Bonn (Germany) to Venice (Italy), was climbing through FL350 out of Cologne when the crew reported two cabin crew members had become ill, declared medical emergency and diverted to Stuttgart (Germany) for a safe landing on runway 25 about 25 minutes later. The two cabin crew, suffering from nausea and vomitting were taken to a hospital.

A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration D-AKNO reached Venice with a delay of 10 hours.

The aircraft remained on the ground for 22 hours, then resumed service.

Germany's BFU told The Aviation Herald on May 25th 2016, that they are aware of the occurrence and are collecting data to decide how to rate the occurrence.
