An Air Berlin Airbus A320-200, registration D-ABNH performing flight AB-6300 from Munich to Hamburg (Germany), was enroute at FL340 about 70nm southeast of Hanover (Germany) when the crew decided to divert to Hanover after receiving indications there was less fuel than expected remaining in the right hand fuel tank. The aircraft landed safely on Hanover's runway 27R about 13 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled. The passengers were bussed to Hamburg.

The airline reported the fuel gauge was faulty, there had been as much fuel in the tank as expected.
