An Air Berlin Airbus A320-200, registration D-ABHI performing flight AB-6495 from Berlin Tegel to Cologne (Germany), experienced fumes in cockpit and cabin in flight causing three passengers and the entire cabin crew to complain about nausea, two cabin crew vomitted several times. The flight crew continued the flight to Cologne for a safe landing on runway 14L about 50 minutes after departure. The passengers were not taken to a hospital, the entire cabin crew went to a hospital.

Sources tell The Aviation Herald, that the aircraft had already suffered a fume event the previous day on flight AB-8077 from Helsinki (Finland) to Berlin Tegel. The aircraft remained on the ground for about 11 hours, then departed for AB-6495 the following morning.

Germany's BFU reported they have been informed about both occurrences and are collecting further information to determine the classification of the occurrence. On Oct 26th 2017 the BFU followed up reporting that the occurrence was neither rated serious incident nor accident and is not being investigated.

According to sources two cabin crew are still on sick leave 5 days after the occurrence. According to a first laboratory result the Creatine Kinase level has been found substantially increased sugesting an intoxication.
