A Jet2.com Boeing 737-800, registration G-GDFC performing flight LS-545 from Newcastle,EN (UK) to Lanzarote,CI (Spain), was climbing out of Newcastle's runway 07 when the crew stopped the climb at FL100 reporting problems with the landing gear. The aircraft subsequently diverted to Manchester for a safe landing on runway 05R about 100 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration G-LSAC is estimated to reach Lanzarote with a delay of 4 hours.

The airline confirmed the crew received a fault indication for the landing gear.
