A British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-GATR performing flight BA-2607 from Naples (Italy) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was climbing out of Naples when the crew stopped the climb at FL160 and returned to Naples for a safe landing on runway 24 about 25 minutes after departure.

A passenger reported there was a chemical smell on board.

The airline reported a technical issue.
