A British Airways Airbus A320-200, registration G-GATR performing flight BA-2605 (dep Jul 19th) from Naples (Italy) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was enroute at FL360 about 20nm northeast of Nice (France) when the green hydraulic system failed indicating low pressure at the left hand engine (V2527) green hydraulic pump and the green hydraulic system. The aircraft continued to destination. Descending towards London the crew advised ATC of the hydraulic fault and requested to be towed off the runway. The aircraft landed safely on Gatwick's runway 08R about 90 minutes later. The aircraft stopped on the runway, emergency services reported a fluid was leaking from the aircraft. The aircraft was towed off the runway.

The runway returned to service about 4.5 hours later after the spillage had been cleaned up.
