A Flydubai Boeing 737-800, registration A6-FDL performing flight FZ-857 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Gassim (Saudi Arabia), was enroute at FL340 about 180nm westnorthwest of Dubai when the left hand engine's (CFM56) exceeded the maximum temperature prompting the crew to reduce thrust, turn around to return to Dubai and drift down. The aircraft landed safely back on Dubai's runway 30L about 80 minutes after departure.
