A Spicejet Boeing 737-900, registration VT-SLD performing flight SG-517 from Bangalore to Kolkata (India) with 211 passengers and 7 crew, burst a main tyre on departure. The crew unaware of the blown tyre continued the flight. A runway inspection subsequently found the tyre debris and informed air traffic control, who in turn informed the crew. The crew requested emergency services on standby for the arrival in Kolkata. The aircraft landed safely.
