A Niki Airbus A320-200, registration OE-LEE performing flight HG-2714 from Vienna (Austria) to Malaga,SP (Spain), was enroute at FL370 about 50nm southeast of Perpignan (France) when the crew decided to return to Vienna. The aircraft climbed to FL380 and landed safely back in Vienna about 2 hours later.

A replacement A320-200 registration OE-LEN reached Malaga with a delay of 5 hours.

The airline reported that a problem with the windshield heating prompted the crew to return to Vienna as a precaution. The windshield was replaced. There are no technical links with the incident 4 days earlier, see Incident: Niki A320 near Saragossa on Dec 14th 2015, odour in cabin
