A KLM Boeing 737-800, registration PH-BXD performing flight KL-1205 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Stavanger (Norway), was enroute at FL340 about 110nm north of Amsterdam when the crew decided to return to Amsterdam due to a malfunction of the captain's seat. The aircraft landed safely back in Amsterdam about 25 minutes later.

The aircraft remained on the ground for about one hour, then the aircraft was released, departed again and reached Stavanger with a delay of 90 minutes.
