A UTAir Boeing 737-500, registration VQ-BPS performing flight UT-578 from Murmansk to Moscow Vnukovo (Russia) with 126 passengers, was climbing out of Murmansk's runway 31 when the crew could not fully retract the landing gear, stopped the climb at 1600 meters, burned off fuel and returned to Murmansk for a safe landing on runway 31 about 50 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-500 registration VQ-BJO reached Moscow with a delay of 6 hours.
