An Emirates Airlines Airbus A380-800, registration A6-EDM performing flight EK-413 from Sydney,NS (Australia) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates) with 471 passengers and 30 crew, was enroute at FL350 over the Indian Ocean about 320nm southeast of Colombo (Sri Lanka) when the crew reported smoke in the cockpit and decided to divert to Colombo, later adivsing that the smoke had subsided. The aircraft landed safely on Colombo's runway 22 about 40 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft experienced a technical fault. The flight is now estimated to arrive in Dubai on Sunday, Jun 28th, at 02:00L with a delay of 44 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Colombo 19 hours after landing.
